A neglected former farm near the Sandringham Estate is reportedly being prepared as Prince Andrew’s next residence once he vacates Royal Lodge.
The property, known as Marsh Farm, lies about seven miles west of King Charles’s Sandringham House and has recently fallen within an expanded no fly zone covering parts of the royal estate. The change has fuelled speculation that the site has been designated for Andrew’s use.
Marsh Farm includes a main house with two reception rooms and a kitchen, along with several outbuildings. However, sources say the property is currently uninhabitable and would require extensive renovation before it could be occupied. Buckingham Palace has declined to confirm the reports, citing privacy and security concerns.
A palace source said the royal household would not disclose details of Andrew’s accommodation, stressing that he is now considered a private citizen and that Sandringham remains a private estate.
Andrew lost his Duke of York title and his status as a working royal following revelations about his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He was also stripped of his Order of the Garter, with further scrutiny arising after reports that he maintained contact with Epstein after publicly claiming otherwise.
After sustained pressure from King Charles and the Royal Household, Andrew agreed to give up his lease at Royal Lodge, despite reportedly holding a long term agreement. He is required to leave the 31 room mansion by the end of October, although sources suggest the move may be delayed due to the condition of the proposed replacement property.
An insider said Andrew has been informed that Marsh Farm will be his future home but warned that the scale of renovation work could significantly delay his departure from Royal Lodge.
The farm is currently empty, with gardens overlooking Dersingham Bog, an area used for royal shoots, and views toward The Wash. Wood Farm Cottage, previously occupied by Prince Philip, has reportedly been ruled out as an option.
Andrew’s former wife, Sarah Ferguson, is said to be looking for private accommodation elsewhere. Palace sources insist there is no confirmed timeline for the move, though some of Andrew’s belongings have reportedly already been placed into storage.
