Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have been drawn into renewed controversy surrounding their father Prince Andrew after an email surfaced discussing possible payments to the two sisters.
Email Allegedly Discussed £100,000 Payments
The email, reportedly obtained by the Mail on Sunday, suggests Prince Andrew discussed financial arrangements in June 2011 with financier Jonathan Rowland, the son of banker David Rowland.
According to the report:
- Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were each expected to receive £50,000
- Prince Andrew himself was reportedly set to receive £300,000
The discussions allegedly occurred while Andrew was serving as the United Kingdom’s special trade envoy.
It remains unclear whether the proposed payments were ever made.
Political Pressure for Clarification
Following the revelations, several UK lawmakers have called for clarification regarding whether the payments actually took place.
The development adds to ongoing scrutiny surrounding Prince Andrew’s past association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Charity Relationship Ends
Separately, human rights organisation Anti-Slavery International confirmed that Princess Eugenie’s seven-year patronage with the group has ended.
The organisation thanked her for her support and said it hoped she would continue working to combat modern slavery.
No Allegations Against the Sisters
There has been no suggestion of wrongdoing by Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie or their mother Sarah Ferguson in relation to the allegations linked to Epstein or the reported payment discussions.
