Kevin Spacey Settles Sexual Assault Civil Claims in UK

Kevin Spacey has reached an out-of-court settlement in civil cases brought by three British men who accused him of sexual assault, bringing an end to proceedings that were scheduled for trial later this year.

A High Court order dated March 13 confirmed that the cases had been halted after both parties agreed to confidential settlement terms. Judge Christina Lambert ruled that all further proceedings be stayed, noting the agreement included undisclosed conditions.

No details of the settlement have been made public.

The claims alleged that Spacey sexually assaulted the three men between 2000 and 2013. Two of the accusers had previously testified in a 2023 criminal trial at Southwark Crown Court, where Spacey was acquitted of all charges.

One of the claimants, Ruari Cannon, who waived his anonymity, alleged he was assaulted in 2013 during an event linked to a production of Sweet Bird of Youth.

Spacey, 66, has consistently denied all allegations of sexual misconduct, stating that any interactions were consensual or did not occur.

The accusations against the Oscar-winning actor first emerged in 2017 and have led to multiple legal cases in both the UK and the United States. A separate civil lawsuit in the U.S. was dismissed by a jury in 2022.
