The White House has released the first photo taken from the far side of the moon.
The incredible image from NASA, captured from the Orion spacecraft, was taken as the Earth slipped below the moon’s horizon, it said.

As we’ve been reporting, the four Artemis II astronauts made history yesterday for the furthest humans have travelled from Earth.
Yesterday’s lunar flyby saw the crew view parts of the far side of the moon that have never been seen by humans before, and also included a solar eclipse.
The White House has published this photo of the eclipse, which was “a view few in human history have ever witnessed”.
