American singer Chris Brown stepped away from Paris Fashion Week on Wednesday to attend a court hearing in London ahead of his upcoming criminal trial.
The Grammy-winning artist is facing charges related to an alleged February 19, 2023 incident in which he is accused of striking London music promoter Abe Diaw over the head with a tequila bottle at the exclusive Tape nightclub in Hanover Square, Mayfair. Brown, 36, has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
He arrived at court accompanied by his longtime manager Anthony “Ant” Wilson. Brown wore a white jacket with grey trousers and black dress shoes and stopped briefly to sign autographs for fans as he left the courthouse. Supporters were seen filing into the building for the hearing.
Brown was arrested in England in May 2025 on an outstanding warrant connected to the alleged assault. He was released on bond about a week later and subsequently settled a related civil lawsuit with Diaw for an undisclosed amount.
Despite the ongoing case, Brown was granted special permission to retrieve his passport and continue his Breezy Bowl XX world tour, with reports indicating he must surrender his passport upon arrival in each country.
The criminal proceedings in London are ongoing.
