Actress Ruby Rose has publicly accused pop star Katy Perry of sexual assault, alleging the incident occurred nearly two decades ago at a nightclub in Melbourne.
Rose made the claims in a series of posts on social media, stating the alleged incident happened when she was in her early twenties. She said it took years to speak out due to the lasting psychological impact.
Complex magazine wrote an article about Katy’s reaction to Justin Bieber’s performance at Coachella.
Rose wrote in a comment: “Katy Perry sexual [sic] assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a sh*t what she thinks.”
Rose continued: “I was only in my early 20s. I’m now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly.”
According to her account, the incident took place in a public setting and was witnessed by others. She also claimed she had previously downplayed the experience as a joke before deciding to address it more seriously.
Rose indicated she has now approached authorities regarding her experiences, though it remains unclear whether any formal investigation will proceed due to the time that has passed.
As of now, Katy Perry has not publicly responded to the allegations.
