Trump departs China after touting trade deals, agreement with Xi on Iran

President Donald Trump departed Beijing Capital International Airport just after 2:40 p.m. local time Friday, concluding a two-day summit in China.

A brief departure ceremony was held on the tarmac before Trump boarded Air Force One for the flight back to the United States.

Following his meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Trump touted “fantastic trade deals” and said the two leaders were aligned on Iran, including that the country cannot obtain a nuclear weapon.

During an exclusive interview Thursday with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Trump also said Xi offered to help ensure navigation through the Strait of Hormuz as the U.S. and Iran continue negotiations aimed at ending the conflict.

Trump additionally expressed optimism about hosting Xi in the United States in September.
