The Sean Combs RICO case and Cassie Ventura testimony took center stage in court on May 19, as federal prosecutors unveiled graphic photos and disturbing evidence. The trial, involving allegations of abuse, sex trafficking, and organized criminal activity, has drawn widespread media attention and public debate.
The prosecution released over a dozen images of sex workers who allegedly participated in controversial “freak-off” events with Ventura. Additionally, graphic photos showing Cassie’s injuries—including bruises on her face, legs, and back, as well as swollen lips—were introduced as part of the evidence. Prosecutors claim the injuries were inflicted during violent incidents involving Combs.

Dawn Richard, a former member of Danity Kane, also testified, stating under oath that she witnessed Combs physically assault Cassie.

The case continues to focus on allegations of domestic abuse and the orchestrated sex parties referred to as “freak-offs.” Prosecutors allege these acts were part of a broader pattern of coercive and criminal behavior tied to a larger investigation.
Combs was arrested in September and is facing multiple charges under the RICO Act, including sex trafficking, conspiracy, prostitution, arson, and racketeering.
Courtroom observers noted the jury’s intense focus as images of Cassie and the alleged sex workers were displayed on monitors. Cassie, 38, reportedly admitted to recruiting men across several states to take part in the events, compensating them for their involvement. While Combs did not actively participate in the acts, Cassie claimed he watched from the sidelines while pleasuring himself.
In exchange for her testimony, Cassie has been granted immunity from prosecution.
Despite the sensational details, some members of the public and press have questioned the strength of the RICO case. One X (formerly Twitter) user commented, “I still haven’t seen any evidence of some type of… crime. What I’ve seen is paid prostitutes and consenting adults talking about freaky stuff—it’s not even that freaky.”
The trial continues as prosecutors work to solidify their case linking Combs to organized criminal conduct beyond consensual adult behavior.
