Controversial former NFL star Antonio Brown is facing attempted murder charges for a shooting that occurred at a celebrity boxing event in May.
Brown, 36, is accused of firing two shots during a brawl between two groups of people in Miami’s Little Haiti airport, as detailed in a warrant obtained by The Washington Post.
The warrant, signed by a judge in Miami-Dade County on Wednesday, mandates a $10,000 bond and house arrest for Brown pending trial.
Witnesses corroborate the incident, including a security guard from the event who witnessed Brown physically confronting another man outside the venue. Multiple witnesses also reported that Brown fired two shots, as per the warrant.
Surveillance video footage allegedly shows Brown assaulting a man, which escalated into a larger brawl. At one point, Brown allegedly grabbed a security guard’s gun and ran towards the man he initially attacked. The video captures the victim ducking as Brown allegedly fired two shots.
Five days after the incident, the victim recounted to police that after the initial physical encounter, Brown began running towards him with a firearm. The victim mentioned that one of the bullets grazed his neck, leading to his hospitalization at a local hospital for his injuries.
The victim revealed that he had known Brown since 2022.
Last month, a video posted on social media captured Brown involved in a fight with several individuals at a boxing event hosted by popular streamer Adin Ross. The video shows Brown apparently holding a black pistol as he pursued someone, with shots audible in the background.
Additional footage shows Brown being escorted from the venue by an officer, with his hands behind his back.
In response to the charges, Brown posted on social media, claiming that he had been “jumped by multiple individuals who attempted to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me.”
He further stated that the police temporarily detained him until they received his side of the story and then released him. Brown emphasized that he went home that night and was not arrested.
