Former Liverpool F.C. and England Under-21 winger Jordan Ibe was reportedly arrested after landing at Luton Airport last month.
Ibe, 30, who currently plays for Lokomotiv Sofia, has been charged with actual bodily harm in connection with an alleged assault said to have taken place on December 14, 2025. He was arrested on January 30 upon arrival in the UK and taken into custody.
According to reports, Ibe has since been released on bail and is scheduled to appear before Croydon Magistrates’ Court on March 6. He had travelled from Bulgaria to attend court proceedings related to a separate case.
A police spokesperson confirmed the charge relates to an alleged assault and stated that Ibe was detained at Luton Airport before being processed.
Last November, Ibe signed for Lokomotiv Sofia after a brief spell with Sittingbourne Town. He has yet to make a competitive appearance for the Bulgarian side.
Ibe previously commanded a club-record £15 million transfer when AFC Bournemouth signed him from Liverpool in 2016. In 2021, he publicly disclosed that he had battled depression for four years, describing a difficult period in his career.
Lokomotiv Sofia said at the time of his signing that the winger was ready to revive his career and expressed confidence in his future with the club.
