Elderly Woman Killed After Being Run Over by Her Own Car in Leeds
 
																						
											
											
											A 73-year-old woman has died after being accidentally run over by her own car in the car park of a doctor’s surgery in Kirkstall, Leeds.
Emergency services were called to Abbey Grange Medical Practice on Norman Street at around 4:55 p.m. on October 29, following reports that a woman had been struck by her vehicle.
According to West Yorkshire Police, the woman’s Kia Picanto is believed to have been parked on a slight slope when it suddenly rolled backward, knocking her to the ground. Despite efforts by paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement, police said:
“Officers were called to reports that a 73-year-old woman had been in collision with her own vehicle. It’s believed the car rolled back and struck her. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Police have launched an appeal for witnesses, asking anyone who was in the area or may have dashcam footage to come forward.
