NHS Trust Removes Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Plaque After Loss of Royal Title
An NHS Trust has removed a plaque commemorating the 2019 opening of Chase Farm Hospital by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly the Duke of York.
The memorial, which had been displayed inside the hospital part of London’s Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust—was taken down following King Charles’s decision last week to strip his brother of his princely title.
The decision marks another setback for the former prince, who has also been ordered to vacate his Windsor residence, Royal Lodge.
Andrew presided over the hospital’s official opening in May 2019, unveiling the plaque, helping staff bury a time capsule, and touring the £200 million facility during the ceremony.
