King Charles Formally Strips Andrew Prince Titles

King Charles III has formally revoked his brother Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s “His Royal Highness” style and princely title, officially recording the change in Britain’s public record.

A new entry published in The Gazette, the UK’s official record, confirms that the decision has taken effect. The entry reads:

“The King has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the Realm dated 3 November 2025 to declare that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor shall no longer be entitled to hold and enjoy the style, title or attribute of ‘Royal Highness’ and the titular dignity of ‘Prince’.”

The Great Seal of the Realm, a wax seal symbolizing the monarch’s formal approval of state documents, was affixed to finalize the move.

The King’s action follows weeks of renewed scrutiny over Andrew’s association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The same record also confirmed his removal from the Roll of Peerage as Duke of York, previously announced in October.

Buckingham Palace stated that Andrew would vacate his Royal Lodge residence in Windsor. The former prince reportedly did not contest the King’s decision and has been stripped of all remaining royal privileges.

Andrew Mountbatten Windsor relinquished his remaining royal titles last month amid intensifying public criticism of his past connections and personal conduct.
