Last night, President Barack Obama said goodbye to the American nation in a farewell speech delivered in Chicago. During his farewell address, he declared that he hadn’t abandoned his vision of progressive change. But in a concession that, for now, his brand of progressive politics stalled Washington, he admitted “for every two steps forward, it often feels we take one step back.”

The new Ghanaian President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Monday morning started work at the presidential palace by first inspecting a guard of honour mounted by the Ghana Armed Forces. According to media reports from Ghana, Nana Addo arrived at the Flagstaff House at exactly 9am. He first inspected the guard of honour and was ushered into his office. According to a member of the group, Tunde ran a massive and catchy advert on Facebook where he dropped the WhatsApp group link which enabled him get such number of people in a short while.

Veteran British journalist, Clare Hollingworth, who broke the news of the Nazi invasion of Poland that marked the beginning of World War II, died in Hong Kong yesterday Jan. 10th at the age of 105. Hollingworth’s death was announced in a statement released by the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Hong Kong. In August 1939, at the age of 27, late Hollingworth who was a rookie reporter with Britain’s Daily Telegraph, traveled alone to the German border and witnessed the first column of Nazi tanks mobilising to invade Poland.
