Singer, Stephanie Otobo who made news last year after alleging that she was in a sexual relationship with the Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministeries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, yesterday went to his church in Edo state and in front of his congregation, confessed that she lied against him. According to Stepahnie, she was paid heavily by some politicians to tarnish the image of the pastor. She appealed to the pastor and his wife, Lizzy, to forgive her which they did. Mrs Suleman later prayed for her and said she has forgiven her.

Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to accept in good faith the outcome of the election should he and his party, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, fail to win the presidential contest. Ekweremadu also urged the president to borrow a leaf from his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan, who not only ensured free and fair election in 2015, but bowed out honourably after his defeat in 2015.
President Muhammadu Buhari has signed eight bills into law. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly matters (Senate), Ita Enang, briefed State House correspondents on Friday. Prominent among the bills signed into law is the Legislative Houses (Power and Privileges), Act 2018. The Act grants members of Legislative Houses in the National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly immunity from litigation for actions taken in plenary or committee proceedings of the House or committee.
A Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja has been told how some telephone conversation recorded exposed the alleged lies told by the embattled Federal High Court judge, Rita Ofili-Ajumogibia to the investigating officers during investigation. The Investigation officer was attached to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, the agency which is prosecuting her for alleged corrupt practices. Justice Ajumogobia is standing trial along with a former EFCC prosecutor, Godwin Obla.

Kwara State governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, was one of the five governors who defected from PDP to APC during the buildup to the 2015 general elections. In a recent interview with Sahara Reporters, Governor Ahmed said his defection to PDP, if at all, will be determined by his followers from the wards to the state level.
