The U.S. Department of Justice has released new images from the final hours of Jeffrey Epstein as part of its latest Epstein Files disclosure, offering a closer look at the scene inside the Metropolitan Correctional Center where he died on August 10, 2019.
The photos show Epstein on a stretcher as paramedics attempted resuscitation, along with images of his cell, where bedding and clothing were scattered and a strip of fabric used in the hanging was visible on the bed frame. Additional pictures document the sealed cell door and medical findings, including damage to his hyoid bone.
Epstein died while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges in New York. His death was ruled a suicide, a conclusion reaffirmed by federal authorities despite years of speculation alleging foul play.
The newly released material forms part of a broader document dump ordered by Congress, though the Department of Justice has since removed thousands of files after victims said flawed redactions exposed identifying information.
