Cohen to testify Trump engaged in criminal activity while in office

Michael Cohen is throwing his former boss, President Donald Trump, under the bus wheels before he turns himself in to begin serving a three-year sentence at a federal prison in March. President Trump’s former consigliere will testify before Congress on Wednesday that Trump engaged in criminal and racist conduct while in office.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Cohen will tell House committee members he witnessed Trump lying, making racist statements and cheating while in office.

Cohen will for the first time publicly accuse the President of making hush money payments to a porn star, a source told the WSJ.

The person familiar with Cohen’s testimony told the WSJ the disgraced former lawyer would provide “evidence of criminal conduct since Mr. Trump became president.”

Cohen won’t answer specific questions related to Mueller’s investigation into whether Trump colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 presidential elections.

Cohen’s testimony is expected to include racist comments Trump allegedly made to him, including incidents when Trump questioned the intelligence level of Black Americans and criticized their lifestyle choices, the source said.

Last year, federal agents raided Cohen’s home, office and hotel room, seizing thousands of documents, including his bank statements and privileged communications between Cohen and his wealthy clients.

The raids were executed by the FBI as part of a probe by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in coordination with special counsel Robert Mueller’s office.

Cohen eventually pleaded guilty to committing campaign-finance violations, lying to Congress, and multiple counts of income tax evasion.

In November, Cohen pleaded guilty to a separate case of lying to Congress by downplaying Trump’s involvement in efforts to build a Trump Tower in Moscow, according to the WSJ.

Cohen agreed to testify before the House committee after postponing a scheduled hearing last month.

WSJ’s source tells the newspaper Cohen “expects to be called a liar” after his testimony on Wednesday.

Cohen spent more than a decade working for Trump, first at the Trump Organization and later as his personal attorney and fixer.

Cohen must report to prison to begin serving his three-year sentence on March 6.
