Femi Ogunrombi, often known as Papa Ajasco, was a veteran Nollywood actor.
Husseini Shaibu, a theatre professional, reported his death on Sunday via his Twitter account.
He added, “I have just received reliable information that Mr. Femi Ogunrombi, an ethnomusicologist, former music instructor with the National Theatre, and a former stand-in for the ‘Papa Ajasco’ character on the well-known #waleadenugaprod comedic series ‘Papa Ajasco,’ has passed away.
The actor, singer, highlifist, and trained nurse whom we affectionately referred to as “Uncle Ogurombo” (albeit not to his hearing) passed away this evening (Saturday), I’m told.
Ogunrombi was popular for his role in Wale Adenuga’s Comedy series, Papa Ajasco.
Ogunrombi took over the character, Papa Ajasco, when the former character, Abiodun Ayoyinka pulled out of the show.
