Nipsey Hussle went to clothing store without security to give his ex-con friend new clothes

Rapper Nipsey Hussle died while helping out a friend who was recently released from prison. According to TMZ, Nipsey, 33, left his home without telling his team or his security where he was going.

Nipsey met his friend at his clothing store, Marathon Clothing Company, in an impoverished neighborhood in South Los Angeles. The friend was just released from prison after serving 20 years, and Nipsey wanted to give him new clothes before the man met his family.

Nipsey was confronted outside his store by an armed ex gang member, Eric Holder, 29, who opened fire on the rapper, his friend and the friend’s nephew as they spoke outside the store on Sunday, March 31.

The friend and his nephew were also shot by Holder, who was reportedly upset that Nipsey called him a snitch the day before.

The third man shot was the friend’s nephew, who drove him to the store, according to TMZ.

After returning to the scene twice to shoot Nipsey multiple times, Holder kicked him in the head before fleeing to a waiting getaway car in an alleyway.

Holder was arrested on Tuesday, April 2, after he went to a Bellflower, CA. clinic for mental health treatment.

He was taken into custody by L.A. County Sheriffs and transferred to the custody of the LAPD late Tuesday.

A female believed to be Holder’s getaway driver turned herself in to police on Tuesday. She was questioned and released by police after she said she was unaware that Holder planned to shoot Nipsey.

After Holder’s arrest on Tuesday, Nipsey’s longtime girlfriend Lauren London, 34, who is the mother of his 2-year-old son, Kross, wrote an emotional post on Instagram.com.

She included 8 photos of their lives together, including photos of Nipsey and her son, as well as his daughter, Emani, and her son by rapper Lil Wayne.

She captioned the post, “I am completely lost, I’ve lost my best friend, My sanctuary, My protector, My soul. I’m lost without you, We are lost without you babe, I have no words.”

Instagram users left over 400,000 comments in the post.
