Judge: President Trump Can’t Block People On Twitter.com

A federal judge has ruled that President Donald Trump can no longer block people on Twitter.com. U.S. District Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald ruled Wednesday that Twitter is a “public platform” for the people to dialogue — and disagree — with the president.Trump Nominates the First Black Female Brigadier GeneralJudge Buchwald announced his ruling in response to a lawsuit filed by the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University and others, the AJC.com reported.

The president is a prolific tweeter who vigorously blocks “anti-Trumpers” who disagree with his opinions and just about everything he tweets.

Judge Buchwald agreed that the President of the United States can’t silence the American people or prevent them from voicing their disagreement of him.

The judge said Trump’s Twitter account is a public platform “and blocking people who reply to his tweets with differing opinions constitutes viewpoint discrimination” in violation of the First Amendment, The Hill reported.

President Trump is likely to tweet his displeasure of the judge’s ruling, and the people can lawfully disagree with him without fear of retaliation.
