Over 300 bandits well armed with sophisticated weapons struck Duba community in Batsari LGA of Katsina State on Saturday.
The bandits, who were said to be carrying General Purpose Machine Guns, GPMGs, killed not fewer than twelve persons and injured scores while raiding several shops in the area.
DAILY POST gathered that the bandits numbering over 300 stormed Duba community, shooting sporadically into the air, after which they looted numerous shops and rustled some domestic animals belonging to the residents.
However, the police spokesman said that a joint team of security operatives are on the trail of the hoodlums as further investigation is ongoing.
DAILY POST gathered from a source in the community that the remains of the deceased were buried on Sunday and those injured are being attended to at the hospital.
