A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Mr. Biyi Odunlade, has alleged that his house at Parakin Obalufe, Ile-Ife was attacked by some assailants.
Odunlade, who is one of the leaders of The Osun Progressives, a faction within Osun APC, backed by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, said this in an interview with The PUNCH on Sunday.
Narrating his ordeal to our correspondent, Odunlade said, “I came back from Osogbo and I sat inside my compound with my friends, when I realised that I needed to see someone at the palace.
“I stepped out and about 20 minutes after I left the house, I received a call from my daughter informing me that my house was attacked by men armed with cutlasses, guns and dangerous weapons. She told me that they were shooting.
“My daughter had come on a visit with her husband and their children. They were about to enter their car when those hoodlums attacked my house. They just managed to escape. She said those hoodlums still chased them. After escaping from the vicinity, she went to Moore Police Station (Ile-Ife) to report the matter.
“Those hoodlums were calling my name and shouting, we are here to kill you, come outside. My wife was inside the house hearing their threat. She ran upstairs and hid herself.
“The hoodlums went to my Toyota Camry that I parked in the compound and smashed the windscreen. They destroyed the windows of my house; they also went to my wife’s grocery store and shattered the place.
“My wife said she can identify those who came to her shop. Her house help that they met in the shop was beaten. I suspect assassination attempt.”
When contacted for comment on the allegation, Osun Police Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, promised to contact the Divisional Police Officer of the station where the matter was reported for the details of what transpired.
